A Sudden Realization

that I haven’t written in over two years. Last week it hit me, and tried (and succeeded!) in restoring my WordPress account. Apparently, I had my old cell phone linked and couldn’t access it. Anyway, it’s all worked out now.

I’m not here to apologize for not writing, as if anyone really reads this. People close to me will understand why and those who aren’t well, it’s fine if you don’t.

Let’s do a little recap, shall we? (might need a tissue or two) Continue reading “A Sudden Realization”

A New Start

6 Years – I feel that these last several years were just a taste of what my life should have been like. I was just trying to find myself and what I wanted out of life. Who I wanted to be, who I wanted to share it with, what type of career I craved, and how I wanted to be remembered by family (reconnect or continue holding grudges – I chose the first).

4 Years – I was in a car accident which at the time didn’t seem that big of a deal, but as some may know if you’ve been in that situation, soft-tissue injuries aren’t that apparent and don’t show up on x-rays. Oh the joy.

Year One

This is a running joke I have going where I pretend I’m going to write each and every day like some fellow bloggers out there, but I end up having zero motivation until I hear a good song. “Dirty Paws” by Of Monsters & Men. For some reason, that particular tune lifts my spirit and I end up opening a word editing program and I type away until I realize I have been writing well over an hour… Continue reading “Year One”

Layoff – Day 10

For those desperate for work (like me) will apply for just about anything, even if that means selling a little of integrity in the process. However, as of 24 hours ago, I was offered a position at some probable respectable company, but after some researching I discovered it wasn’t the case at all: Sales @ 100% commission – that’s something I am trying to stay far away from. I have never Continue reading “Layoff – Day 10”

Layoff – Day 3

A dozen applications/resumes sent off to positions around Indy as well as signed up with two additional temp agencies. Made several phone calls to arrange payments with upcoming bills (ahem, car note). That was the only call I have been dreading all week and it was all for nothing. They were very (and surprisingly) understanding. Continue reading “Layoff – Day 3”

March already…

It has been a very rough last few months for me. Not going to get into specifics but just going to say that if you don’t listen to your heart and face the music, you’re going to continue to lie to yourself and whatever you have to deal with, is your own damn fault. Continue reading “March already…”

The Quiet One

I have gone running only one time this week, which according to C25K during my first week I should be running 3 days, a day apart. Due to the weather the last few days (thunderstormy/lightning/scattered tornado watches) I’ve been cooped up inside after work. Today would be a good day only it is in the mid 80’s and my body isn’t reacting to the high humidity levels that well. Continue reading “The Quiet One”

Back To the Future

**Edit**

OMG I totally forgot I couldn’t directly link images from Angelfire to well, anywhere. I realized this mistake this morning when I checked this blog via my phone but was unable to remedy anything till I got home. Now Angelfire refuses to let me save my own images to my computer so I can upload them. :/

It is tornado season here in the Ohio Valley.

I’m afraid of tornadoes, tornado sirens, thunder and severe weather. Lightning I can handle as long as it doesn’t strike me. It is Severe Weather Awareness Week and today the city sounded the sirens as a test twice, both caught me off guard. I didn’t know that it’d be tested – as that happens always at 11 AM Fridays. The first one went off at 10:45 while I was at work. I jumped in my chair and my co-workers laughed. I tried to Continue reading “Back To the Future”

Pretend Time @ Work & Food Ideas

I tried something new at work: I faked being happy – and it seemed to do the trick. My boss and co-workers noticed the change and asked if I got my car already and if they can check it out. I told them I’ll get it this weekend, but I’m just happy. In all honesty, I was 95% sure I was going to call in sick because I wasn’t feeling good at all. But I knew I should at least make an effort in showing up and make an attempt in staying as long as Continue reading “Pretend Time @ Work & Food Ideas”
