May the 4th be with you…

Is what people keep saying today, but I’m not a Star Wars fan – however it was such a great day.

Layoff – Day 3

A dozen applications/resumes sent off to positions around Indy as well as signed up with two additional temp agencies. Made several phone calls to arrange payments with upcoming bills (ahem, car note). That was the only call I have been dreading all week and it was all for nothing. They were very (and surprisingly) understanding. Continue reading “Layoff – Day 3”

I’m telling people I turned 29…

Because 32 is just too dang old, in my opinion. 😉

It was a good birthday today, in fact – weekend. Managed to squeeze in 40 hours into four days and was able to take a three day weekend, and it was quite lovely. Stayed up too late and slept in too late – something that never happens to me anymore, and boy did I pay for it each morning. Was it worth it? Yes.  Continue reading “I’m telling people I turned 29…”

So since March…

My life has been flipped upside down. I’m not as happy as I once was, no matter what I try to do. My pain from the accident is considered chronic now and the doctors don’t know what the next steps are, which leads me into thinking that I need a new doctor + team. I’ve been loaded up on so many medications these last six months that it’s amazing I’m still me but in the end, I just want the pain to go away.

Good things has happened: Continue reading “So since March…”

Oh yeah.. I’m totally not ready for Christmas this year…

I have turned into a baking-researching-cookie fiend as of late. Getting all passionate and excited over the simplest recipes. Last Thursday at work, we celebrated Thanksgiving and I made some Chocolate Crinkle cookies. They were flavored with natural peppermint oil and had white chocolate morsels inside each one. I made approx 60 but the recipe called for 50. I made them Continue reading “Oh yeah.. I’m totally not ready for Christmas this year…”

Nerd Alert

I’ve used the Open Office spreadsheet to its extent as of yesterday evening as I learned how to insert Bar Graphs and Pies. I managed to export my entire checking account activity since February onto a spreadsheet, categorize items and break it down per month to see how much exactly I spend. Holy crap yo. Realized we need to drop AT&T Uverse down to the lower package – as we barely watch it during the week. There are only a handful of channels I watch on a semi-regular basis but unfortunately they’re on the Continue reading “Nerd Alert”

C25K – W1D2 – Done!

And boy do my legs hurt.. I’m walking around the apartment as if I were a duck, taking baby steps as taking full strides are just too painful.

I never thought, at at 15 years old that my 30 year old body would be so out of shape that jogging/walking for 20 minutes would nearly put me under, but it has. My sister and I were sprinting the other kids in our neighborhood as if it were nothing. We’d rather run around outside after school instead of inside watching TV. I’ve become the opposite. Yesterday, Alexis wanted to go bike riding with us. We’d have to dig them out of the Continue reading “C25K – W1D2 – Done!”

The Quiet One

I have gone running only one time this week, which according to C25K during my first week I should be running 3 days, a day apart. Due to the weather the last few days (thunderstormy/lightning/scattered tornado watches) I’ve been cooped up inside after work. Today would be a good day only it is in the mid 80’s and my body isn’t reacting to the high humidity levels that well. Continue reading “The Quiet One”

It’s here!

You must forgive me for not writing as much as this time last month. Much has transpired in this short time.

Well, I have my new car here, it’s resting in the apartment parking lot after a long trip/haul here from Pennsylvania. Though I am quite happy it is here – its rather bittersweet. It arrived yesterday by our friend who has been working on it, with many other cars these last six months. I’m thrilled it is here – my Camry is gone. I traded it for the SVX. No more exhaust consuming my lungs anymore. Continue reading “It’s here!”

Sleepy, so sleepy

We’re back from our exciting & exhaustive trip to Wisconsin. It was so much fun playing pinball and some classic Atari games. Checking out computers that were around even before I was born – I thought would take up an entire room were only about the size of a full-sized desktop, tower included. Back then, who would ever thought that computers would be teeny tiny and be able to be portable and put in your pocket? It’s amazing how far we’ve come. I discovered I’m Continue reading “Sleepy, so sleepy”
