Illegal Issues…

So what’s up with this illegal issue happening in Georgia? So Jessica Colotl was pulled over for minor traffic violations (which I’m unable to find since the internet won’t disclose them).

This is all hilarious, really if you think about it. Any other developed country is more strict with their citizenship, yet when the USA wants to tighten their laws, we’re all called racists and whatnot. Uh, I beg to differ.

The facts:

1. Pulled over for who knows what.

2. When asked for drivers license and registration, she had nothing to produce.

3. When asked for citizenship papers, again nothing.

She was arrested. (Here, people are calling wolf because she was obviously racially profiled. Uh, no. If anyone no matter who they are… had nothing to show for their identification or drivers license… they’d be arrested. You’d think that’d be the end of that.. but no).

4. Upon booking she was asked for her address, she provided false information.

Making a false statement to law enforcement is a felony under Georgia law.

She attends Kennesaw State University in Georgia, as a senior now. That’s great but let’s see here…

She’s not a legal citizen. Again, I repeat. Not legal.

The form used by the 35 institutions that make up the University System of Georgia asks prospective students to disclose their citizen status. They have just three options:

1. U.S. citizen;

2. Nonresident alien: A person who is not a citizen or national of the U.S. and who is in this country on a visa or temporary basis and does not have the right to remain indefinitely;

3. Permanent resident: A non-citizen living in the U.S. under legally recognized and lawfully recorded permanent residence status as an immigrant.

So basically, she lied upon entrance of the university. That and she slipped through the cracks.

I don’t understand.

Some people believe we’re going after the innocent/people who don’t cause trouble. The thing is here, she KNOWS she’s here illegally, yet still continues staying here. There are steps here to take in order to become a citizen.

My boyfriend turned on an episode of Ricky Gervais so I must go watch that for now… will update this later on. 🙂
